NANCY SHIELDS Early Saturday morning, Dec. 17, Mrs. NANCY SHIELDS “fell on sleep” at the home of her children, Mrs. C. A. WANDER and Mr. T. J. SHIELDS. Aged 81 years. She had been up and about the day before and was sleeping at 4 o’clock, a. m., 17th, at 6 o’clock she was discovered to be dead, having almost literally “wrapped the drapery of her couch about her and lay down to pleasant dreams.” Mrs. SHIELDS was a noble lady, who always trusted in the Lord, and who lived a life of piety and usefulness. She was a benevolent lady, always ready to aid the needy, help the poor and administer to the sick. She was idolized by her late husband and children, and highly esteemed by all who knew her.
