Lee Smith on returning from lunch Tuesday was seized by a sudden illness and succumbed before medical assistance arrived. Mr. Smith was the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Smith of Oxford and was 28 years of age. He resided in Covington for a while and later accepted a position with the Quick Tire Co., in Atlanta. Mr. Smith was at his Oxford home Sunday with all the other members of the family and seemed in excellent health and spirits. He was a young man of pleasing personality and inspired warm friendship in the hearts of many. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Smith, two brothers, Chas. and Harold and one sister, Miss Annie Lois Smith. The funeral is taking place this afternoon at Macedonia Baptist Church, of which he was a consistent member. Rev. J. B. Gresham officiating. The music is under the direction of Miss Fletcher Lou Lunsford. Miss Vera Keller will render a song selection. A party of friends came from Atlanta and a number of Covington people are in attendance, among whom are many of the teachers and pupils of the Covington public schools. The floral offerings are especially beautiful. The pupils in Miss Annie Lois Smith's grades presented a lovely design. The bereaved family have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
