DEATH’S SAD ROLL
     Mr. W. M. Smith, one of Newton County’s best and truest citizens, departed 
this life at his residence near Rocky Plains, on Friday last. He was a kind and 
generous man and did all in his power to make those around him happy. He was 
the father of Mr. W. E. Smith, of Covington, who was with him when he died. 
Aged about 60 years.
