A. E. Smith Mrs. D. A. E. Smith died December 12 at the age of 84 at the home of her cousin, Mr. David Guinn on Route 1, Oxford and buried the following day at Macedonia Church. The interment was effected at the Guinn family cemetery on December 13, the services being conducted by Rev. A. W. Rees, D. D. Mrs. Smith, a Guinn before marriage had lived all her life in the neighborhood in which she died. Her husband was killed in the war between the states, and she was one of the few original Confederate widows. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Jennie Miller of Eastman, Ga., and a brother, Mr. L. M. Guinn of Bogart, Ga. Mrs. Smith was greatly loved and respected by a large circle of life long friends.
