S. N. STALLINGS HAS PASSED AWAY WAS ONE OF THE OLDEST CITIZENS OF THE CITY AND A MOST EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN WOMAN Mrs. S. N. Stallings, wife of the late S. N. Stallings of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Chambers in Jacksonville, Fla., on Sunday of last week, and her body was brought to this city for interment on Tuesday. Mrs. Stallings had lived practically all her life in Covington, and was on a visit to her daughter in Florida at the time her death occurred. She had reached the age of eighty-one years, the greater part of which had been lived as a consistent church member and an exemplary Christian life. She had scores of friends in Covington and Newton County, where the people knew her for what she was, a true friend and neighbor, a kind and loving mother and wife, and possesses a genuine and charitable disposition. Mrs. Stallings leaves three children, Mrs. W. H. Evans of this city; Mrs. J. H. Chambers, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mr. Otto Stallings, of Tampa, Fla., besides other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The funeral occurred Tuesday, after which the interment took place in Westview Cemetery. To the bereaved family, The News extends its sympathy.
