Georgia Enterprise, May 5, 1898
  Mr. Milton Towns, aged about 30 years, who works, on Capt. Webbs place,
in Rocky Plains district, was killed by lightning one day last week. He sought
shelter under a pine tree for the rain and the bolt struck the tree, glanced
off and hit him on the face and body, killing him instantly. His body was 
carried to his old home in Carroll county for burial.
