G. Turney, a well known dentist of this city, was found dead in his room. He was sitting lifeless in a rocking chair, with a lamp burning on the table near by, and several books and papers were by his side, which he had evidently been reading. There was no marks of violence on his person and no evidence that he had taken any poisonous medicine. He had been complaining several days, but was not sick enough to go to bed. At the coroner’s inquest Friday a verdict was rendered to the effect that in the opinion of the jury he came to his death from some heart trouble. Dr. Turney was a fine dentist, an excellent musician and a social gentleman. He came from Pennsylvania to Atlanta several years ago and from that city moved to Covington, where he has been living for the past five or six years. His body was buried in the city cemetery Saturday, members of the Covington Band acting as pallbearers. Rev. T. J. Swanson conducting the funeral services.
