A. M. TRAVIS DIES AT HOME OF DR. TRAVIS Excellent Lady was 78 Years of Age and is Survived by Many Relatives. Funeral Tuesday. Mrs. A. M. Travis, mother of Dr. W. D. Travis, one of Covington's most prominent physicians and surgeons, died Monday night at the home of her son at about 78 years of age. Mrs. Travis was greatly loved by all who knew her and the news of her death cast a veil of sorrow over the entire community. The deceased is survived by three sons, Dr. W. D. Travis, of Covington; Hon. Robert J. Travis and John L. Travis, of Savannah; several grandchildren and one niece, Miss Eppie Shockley, of Covington. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. T. J. Christian, following which the remains were carried to Conyers for interment in the Old Cemetery in the Travis lot. The magnificent floral tribute was a touching testimonial of the high regard entertained for Mrs. Travis.
