The Georgia Enterprise, August 12, 1887
  Mr. Elijah H. Vining, one of the best known gentlemen in this county, died at 
his residence in Cedar Shoals district one day last week from a second stroke
of paralysis. He was a master mechanic and for a long number of years a 
machinist and superintendant of the factory at the ________. He was always a 
________, kind and generous man who leaves many relatives and friends to mourn 
his loss. At the time of his death he was about 54 years.
