WRIGHT’S DEATH One of Covington’s Most Beloved Christian Ladies. On last Wednesday evening, just as the sun was sinking beyond the hills the spirit of Mrs. James Wright winged its flight heavenward. A happier death bed scene would be hard to chronicle. With folded hands and a smiling face, she bid adieu to her family and friends, to take up her abode with her heavenly father. For several days she had been in a critical condition, and her death was not entirely unexpected, though it came as a great shock to all her loved ones and friends. She was born in Putnam county Georgia, March 2nd, 1832, and was married to Mr. James Wright on the 12th day of February, 1850. Mrs. Wright was a noble, Christian lady and had been a consistent member of the Methodist church since early in life. In 1870, they moved to Oxford, Georgia, and remained there until 1888, then moved to Covington where they have remained ever since. Mr. James Wright, her husband, died the 15th of May, 1897. He was a stewart in the Methodist church and one of our best citizens. She had been a great sufferer for several years, and the way in which she bore her part was somewhat remarkable. Three children are left to mourn her loss, Messrs. J. A. Wright, J. T. Wright and Miss Carrie Wright, all of Covington. In their bereavement the Enterprise extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family.
