DEATH’S SAD ROLL
     Mrs. Rachel Wallace, mother of Mr. Thomas Wallace, died at her residence, 
in Gum Creek district, Sunday night. Aged about 97 years. She was a good woman 
and a grand old Mother in Israel has been gathered to her peaceful home beyond 
the stars. She had resided at the place where she died for near 70 years. She 
was perhaps the oldest lady in the county, and certainly one of the best. She 
leaves children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the number of over 
200. Rest to her soul and peace to her memory.
