The Georgia Enterprise, February 11, 1892
     A Negro by the name of Martin WYATT, who figured in the courts here 
recently, and who moved to Mr. AKRIDGE’S plantation, in Brick Store district, 
not long since, lost his house by fire Friday. His two children were roasted in 
flames, and everything in the house destroyed before help could be secured. His 
wife had gone out to wash some clothes and left a ten year old girl to look 
after the other two children. It is said that the girl went away from the house 
for something, and during her brief absence the house caught on fire with the 
above fearful result.
