A disturbance had occurred between some other parties that afternoon at Steadman, and it is thought JOHN was killed by mistake, as a result of that difficulty. We are not prepared to report particulars, as the case is not yet fully investigated. The deceased is said to have been a very inoffensive and quiet freedman against whom no one was known to entertain ill will.
