JOHN FINCHER-will dated, Oct. 13, 1832-[probated July 1, 1833]	[Page 3 of 3]

The attached three images were made from photocopies of an original will in a 
folder for the John Fincher estate in the Newton County Probate Court-[as 
organized by John Bruno, for his books on Newton County estate records]. An 
administrative bond posted by widow Nancy Fincher-dated March 3, 1834, is also 
included in the folder, with other items. The will shown here is a typical 
legal portfolio of four pages, hinged, then tri-folded. I have not included the 
fourth surface here. These images have been cropped, resized, spliced at 
redlines, and other wise enhanced for online viewing. Deeds recorded in Jasper 
County GA(see GenWeb site)indicate that widow Nancy Fincher died there in late 
1849. Ten of eleven children mentioned in John Fincher’s Newton Co. will are 
named-(or those of spouses)-in the Jasper Co. deeds. Images here are displayed 
by pages(or sides). End of individual lines are shown by the use of asterisks
(*) in the transcription below. At least one error was found between this copy 
and the one recorded by the court clerk-son, Christopher Fincher was omitted in 
provisions regarding Nancy’s death or remarriage[as recorded Book 3. pp. 60-61]

of the State & County aforesaid being weak in *

boddy but in perfect mind & disposing *

memory do make publish and declare this *

my last will & testament in the follow- *

ing manner to wit *

First I will that all my just debts be paid *

Secondly I give & bequeath to my (word strikeout) *

daughter Mary Lambeth one feather bed & stead *

& furniture one cow & calf  & one sow & pigs *

which I have already delivered to her *

Thirdly I give & bequeath to my son Christopher *

Fincher one horse saddle & bridle cow & calf *

one sow & pigs which I have delivered to him *

Fourthly I give & bequeath to my daughter *

Margaret Pope one cow & calf one feather bed *

stead & furniture one sow & pigs *

Fifthly I give & bequeath unto my beloved *

wife Nancy Fincher the residue of my property *

both real & personal during her natural life or *

widowhood for the purpose of raising & educating *

my children(phrase strikeout) *

And it is also my will & wish that as the balance *

of my children arrives at age or marries that *

they be paid in proportion to them already *

married & at the death of my wife or her *

intermarriage with any other that the whole of *

my estate be divided in the following manner *
