CUPID’S WORK- MARRIAGES
     Mr. H. D. Arnold, of Wilkes County, was united in marriage to Miss Lillian 
Brittain, of Covington, on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd. Rev. Dr. J. M. Brittain, father 
of the bride, officiated. The attendants were as follows Mr. Wright Turner with 
Miss Berta Callaway; Mr. Alfred Dearing with Miss Lillian Butler; Mr. Walter 
Lee with Miss Florence Johnson; Mr. Joe Turnell with Miss Claude Lee; Mr. M. L. 
Brittain with Miss Mattie Turnell. The bride is one of our fairest, most lovely 
and cultured daughters, while the groom is a progressive business man and 
prosperous farmer, he is a gentleman of honor and high integrity. After the 
ceremony an elegant dinner was served at the residence of the bride’s parents. 
The happy pair then left for their home in Wilkes.
