S. Steadman, editor of the Lithonia New Era, was happily united in marriage to Miss Maggie Clarke, on Thursday last, at the residence of the bride’s parents. Rev. Dr. J. M. Brittain officiated. All of Covington. The attendants were Mr. Deane T. Swift, of Lithonia, with Miss Mattie B. Carroll, of Covington. The gallant groom is well and favorably known to our people as an upright, honorable, industrious gentleman; while the charming bride is a young lady of grace, beauty and culture. May Heaven’s choicest blessings ever rest upon this blissful union. The Conyers Solid South says: “They came to Conyers on the evening passenger and are stopping at Mr. C. V. Sanford’s. Col. Steadman is one of the oldest editors on the weekly press and the New Era is bright and spicy. His bride is young and handsome, and was one of Covington’s fairest. We extend congratulations.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/newton/vitals/marriages/clarke2111mr.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
