HAPPY MARRIAGES
THORNTON-FREEMAN
     On Sunday, 2nd August, at 5 p. m., Mr. George Thornton, an industrious and 
popular bachelor of Newton County, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss 
Lizzie O. Freeman, an exquisitely charming young lady, of Gwinnett. Monday 
evening Mr. and Mrs. Marks, the latter being a sister of the groom, gave them a 
dainty informal supper, which was most happily enjoyed with a number of well 
wishing friends and relatives. A desolate bachelor’s hall has been suddenly 
changed to a home of conjugal love and contentment. Peace and plenty be theirs 
through a long and happy sojourn here.
