C., which occurred in Atlanta on Wednesday, Aug. 17th, the Atlanta Constitution says: "A wedding of unusual interest occurred last night at the residence of Colonel and Mrs. W. A. Hemphill, on Peachtree street. The bride was Miss Nellie Neal, of Covington, Ga., and the groom was Mr. Theodore DePre Maybank, originally of Charleston, S. C., but now of Covington, Ga. Although it was decided to have the marriage ceremony conducted at the residence of Colonel Hemphill in preference to a church, the occasion was one of unusual brilliancy, and a number of invited guests were present. The beautiful home was exquistely decorated for the occasion, and with the soft light from the chandeliers were unusually attractive. The ceremony was performed by Dr. I. S. Hopkins. It was brief, but exceedingly impressive. At 9 o'clock Miss Neal entered the parlor of the Hemphill residence leaning on the arm of her father, and accompanied by little Marguerite Hemphill, who was maid of honor. The groom, Mr. Maybank, accompanied by his best man, Mr. Sumner Hall, of Charleston, was waiting for his bride in a remote corner of the room. Near by was standing Dr. Hopkins. The ceremony was over in a few moments, and the newly married couple then received the congratulations of friends. Miss Neal is both beautiful in appearance and charming in manner. She has been one of the belles of Covington since her debut, and is loved by all who know her. She is the daughter of Mr. McCormick Neal, of Covington, a prominent business man of that city, and comes of an old and aristocratic family, being the neice of Mrs. W. A. Hemphill. Mr. Maybank is connected with the Covington branch house of Inman, Sanders & Co., and is regarded as one of the ablest young men in the employ of that important firm. He also comes of an aristocratic family, his forefathers having come to America from France during the colonial days. He has many friends in this city, and is very popular. The young people left last night at 11:50 o'clock over the Southern for Asheville, N. C., where they will remain several days. They will be at home in Covington to friends after September 1st."
