The Georgia Enterprise, July 23,1869 
MARRIED
     On the 18th inst., at the residence of the bride’s mother, by Rev. S. 
Mayfield,  Mr. J. H. ALMAND to Mrs. N. C. LESTER, all of this county.


Additional Comments:

Nancy C. Born, married first Francis M. Lester on March 21, 1860 in Newton County, 
Georgia.  He died December 18, 1862 from wounds received in battle at Richmond, Virginia.
She was born July 21, 1841, a daughter of Thomas P. Born and Jane Lucas.  
Nancy married second Joseph Hamilton Almand and became his fourth wife. She died
January 12, 1899 and is buried in the Born-Lucas Cemetery, Sheffield, Rockdale County,
Georgia.  She did not want to be buried with Joseph Hamilton, who was
buried with his other wives (see Almand Cemetery).  She said she didn't want to compete 
with all that crowd.
