The Georgia Enterprise, October 29, 1891
Old man HIRAM LESTER, the oldest man in the world, is on exhibition at the 
Piedmont Exposition, under the management of Major A. H. S. DAVIS, formerly of 
Covington. Uncle HIRAM was born in 1767, and although 124 years old, the fruits 
and flowers of love are yet alive in his heart, for he married his old time 
sweetheart, Mrs. MOSELY, aged 76, in the grand stand Saturday. When you get to 
the exposition you can see Uncle HIRAM for a dime, but we doubt if even a 
handsome editor, like our self, could kiss the lovely bride, even for a silver 
dollar.
