Sams, of Newton county, was married to Miss Nannie Burford, of Henry county, on the 16th. Rev. Mr. Weathers officiated. The attendants were: Mr. H. H. Harvey and Miss Lelia Williamson; Mr. R. O. Usher and Miss Clovis Jenks; Mr. J. T. Henderson and Miss Lelia Burford; Mr. J. S. Nix and Miss Emma Cankhers. Presents: Silver cake stand, by J. S. Nix; Silver butter knife, by Dr. J. A. Wright; Silver castor, by W. E. Lee; full outfit block tin ware, by H. H. Harvey; elegant gold watch and chain from W. B. Lee & Bro., and many other valuables. Three receptions were tendered the happy couple, to wit: at Judge W. S. Lee's, of Rocky Plains, and Messrs. C. B. Rosser's and O. E. Lee's in Covington. The groom is one of our most solid and popular young men, and the bride one of the fairest and loveliest daughters of the proud old county of Henry. May the future be filled with rich blessings for our young friends, and may no disappointment or misfortune ever throw a shadow across their loving hearts or peaceful home. To them all is joy and bliss at present, and we trust will so continue for all time to come. A waiter of the good things from the marriage feast made the editors table present a tempting appearance, and for which we return many thanks.
