Haygood, son of Dr. A. G. Haygood, was married to Miss Mary J. Rogers, daughter of Col. O. T. Rogers, on Thursday last. The marriage came off at Trinity church, in Savannah, Rev. J. W. Lee, of Atlanta, officiating. We ask for the happy pair all the bliss and prosperity that can be found on this earth. It was a Gretna Green affair, the groom being compelled to secure his lovely bride against the knowledge and consent of her most excellent parents, who had moved from Covington to Savannah only a short while since. The marriage, of course, had a touch of romance about it and gave the society people of the state something to gossip over, as the daily press painted a pretty picture about "Love laughing at locksmiths" and "distance lending enchantment to the view," etc. Additional Comments: Last sentence is unreadable.
