A Beautiful Marriage
     At 6 o’clock, P. M., August 16th 1899, Miss FLORRIE HENDERSON and Mr. A. 
S. BURNEY, were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. JOHN 
F. HENDERSON, in Covington, Ga., only a few relatives and friends being present.
     The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. H. EAKES, pastor, First Methodist 
Church, Rome, Ga., and was strikingly beautiful and appropriate.
     Mr. Burney is a prosperous and successful business man of Rome, prominent 
in his church and in affairs tending to the prosperity and up building of his 
City, and respected and esteemed by all who know him, for his fine character, 
moral worth and Christian virtues.
     Miss Florrie was the pet of the town; the town knew her, and  the town 
loved her; and the town will miss her, on the streets, in social life, at the 
Church, in Sunday School, and everywhere, where she was accustomed to be seen 
and met; and there is no other Florrie to take her place. She will be sadly 
missed by the town, and wherever she goes, she may rest assured that she has 
the best wishes of each and every one, and that a life full of happiness will 
be her lot.
     The presents were many, and remarkably pretty, appropriate and valuable.
     After the ceremony was performed, Mr. and Mrs. Burney left on the seven 
o’clock train for Blowing Rock, N. C., where they will spend a month, before 
returning to Rome, their future home.
