Georgia Enterprise, March 19, 1896
  A marriage came off in the Newton County jail last Sunday morning. Wash
Hightower was married to Lina Osborn, Rev. Wm. Minter officiating. All colored.
It is said that the dusky Lina married Wash in order to disqualify herself
as a witness in a case against him for gambling.
