J. PERRY, in Covington, Mr. McC. NEAL, Jr., and Miss Clara PERRY were united in marriage, by Rev. R. J. BIGHAM. The attendants were: R. O. USHER and Miss Janie PERRY; Irwin PERRY and Miss Nellie NEAL; John ECHOLS and Miss BIGGERS; Evans LUNSFORD and Miss Fronie PERRY; Rogers DAVIS and Miss Florrie HENDERSON; Charlie POWELL and Miss NEWTON. After the ceremony, the bridal party and a few friends, repaired to the home of the groom’s father; which, brilliantly lighted as it was, seemed to extend a cheerful and hearty welcome. The wedding supper was dainty and delicious. The dining room, decorated with evergreens, creepers and ferns, spangled with roses, produced a notably pleasing effect. The whole party lingered long at the tempting and beautiful table enjoying the feast of good things and indulging in the sparkling and charming table talk, which, at such a time and place, when all are gay and happy, springs spontaneously and flows freely, sparking and flashing as it flows. To everyone present, it was a pleasure and delightful occasion, the recollection of which will abide with them for days and weeks and months and years to come. Mrs. SPENCER, nee Mrs. O’KEEFE, of Atlanta, for several years a popular and beloved teacher in the Covington Girls’ High School, and who numbers her friends here by the score, added much to the occasion by her presence and her power to please and entertain. The groom is a young man of great industry, pluck and energy. As a contractor and architect he has already won a name and a reputation, such as few men win in a life time. Before him spreads a future of great possibilities and glowing with the promise of prosperity and success. His young bride being possessed of sound judgment, practical sense, a sweet spirit and a trusting heart, will be to him a sympathizing help mate through all the vicissitudes of life.
