I William Wallace of the county of Newton and State of Georgia being in sound mind and memory do this the twenty second of april in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven make and ordain this my last will and testament in the following words (viz) That is I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Penelope Wallace the lot of land whereon I now live together with the use of all thereonto belonging or anywise appertaining being Lot No. 150 of originally Walton but now Newton county containing two hundred and fifty acres more or less during her natural life and after her death the above named lot of land to be equally divided between my three sons ie James Wallace, Adrew J. Wallace and John Wallace. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Penelope Wallace my two mares Pigeon and Dollas so called together with all my farming utensils and smith tools and all other tools of every description also two sows such as she will choose and five head of cattle such also as she shall choose also five head of sheep such as she shall choose, also all of my household and kitchen furniture of every description all the above mentioned property of every description to be my wife's during her natural life and after her death to be equally divided between my beloved daughter Martha Wallace Laney Wallace Rebecca Wallace and Elizabeth Wallace to them and their heirs forever. I leave my young horse Buck to be sold and all other of my property not herein mentioned or given or given away to be sold that is such property as belongs to this plantation to be sold and five dollars of the proceeds I give to my son William five dollars to my daughter Frances five dollars to Margery my daughter five dollars and five dollors to my daughter Abigail and the balance of the proceeds of the sale of the property left to be sold to go to pay my just debts and school my boys and girls. Also any cattle or lands not herein mention I leave to be sold and the proceeds equally divided between my sons William Alexander and Thomas Wallace and my daughter Frances my daughter Margery my daughter Abigail. Also I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Wallace five dollars in cash out of the proceeds of the sale of the horse and sheep etc. as mentioned above also five dollars to my son Alexander which is to be raised in like manner as that above is of the proceeds of the sale of the horse sheep etc to them and their heirs forever. I William Wallace the testator do make and ordain my friend Redding C. Ship executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said testator have set my hand and seal with day and date above written. Dicey Clark about 1846 (d/o Samuel Clark and Melinda Maines of Jasper Co., Ga.0 William Wallace won the above land in Walton Co., Ga. in the 1820 land lottery while living in Morgan Co., Ga.
