Born on June 29, 1938, in Athens, he was the son of the late John Brittain Chandler Sr. and Dorothy Nell Looney Chandler. He and his wife were the owners of Pine Lake Campground in Bishop. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Whitehead Chandler; four children and spouses, Joy and Dave Wireman, Farmington, Melanie and Joe Arlt, Watkinsville, Hallie Chandler, Bishop, and John Brittain Chandler III and his wife, Heatherly, Comer; first cousin who was like a brother, William “Billy” Chandler, Hull; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Amanda, and Bradley Wireman, Lorrie Stanford, Joey Arit III, Amber Hale, Clyde Hale, and Ancil Chandler. A celebration of life ceremony was held Sunday, November 5, at Pine Lake Campground with the Rev. Woodrow Salley officiating.
