     Obituary for Larry B. Townsend                         
Obituary:   Bogart - Larry Townsend, 30, died Sunday, May 23, 2010. 

Born in Athens , he was the son of Brenda Wortham Townsend of Bogart and the 
late Larry Gene Townsend. Larry was a 1997 graduate of Clarke Central High 
School and received his BSA in Business from Piedmont College . He was the 
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for The Commercial Bank where he 
had been working for seven years. Larry was a longtime member of Victory 
Baptist Church where and was called into the Ministry in 1999. He served as 
intern pastor at Victory for 2 years and also had served as pastor of Ross 
Chapel Baptist Church for 2 ½ years. He currently attended Ray’s United 
Methodist Church . Larry was a loving husband, father, son and brother. 

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Deaton Townsend, daughters: Ashlee Taylor 
Townsend and Sarah Elizabeth Townsend; sisters: Angela Townsend Mitchell of 
Athens, Tammy Townsend Looney of Jackson, Dorothy Townsend (Cory) Puckett of 
Bogart; father and mother in law: Michael and Tammy Deaton of Oconee County; 
brothers in law and their wives: Adam and Nicole Deaton of Oconee County, 
Stark and Mitzi Deaton of Murrayville, GA; and many nieces and nephews as well 
as great nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens 
West Chapel with Rev. Randy Perry and Rev. Elmer Butler officiating. Burial 
will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park . Pallbearers will be Andy Herrin, 
Shane Simmons, Chad Whitehead, Jimmy Love, Greg Reynolds and Joe Brent. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. 

Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
