Troy C. Townsend, 68, of Bogart, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at his residence.

Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late George Millard and Bertha 
Clack Townsend. He worked for Davey Tree Company for 25 years. Mr. Townsend 
was preceded in death by brothers, Lonnie T. Townsend, Tommy Townsend and John 
Townsend.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Brenda Townsend, 
Bogart; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Cheek, Colbert, and Alice and 
Wesley Hayley, Seymour, Texas; and one step-brother and step-sister-in-law, 
George M. and Johanna Townsend, Fayetteville, N.C.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, in the chapel of Lord & 
Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Townsend officiating. Burial was in 
Bogart Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Youngblood, Wayne Watkins, Leroy Looney, Corey Puckett, 
Scott Mitchell and Dave Bradshaw.

Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Bogart, was in charge of arrangements.
