The home was her daughter's located on Rays Rd. Eastville, Oconee County, Georgia Additional Comments: This lady lived a very interesting, happy and productive life. She was the oldest person in my family that I remember who ties me to Georgia's red soil, Oconee County and to families who were and are a rich part of the history of America and the South. She was born in 1852 in Walton County to William M. Malcom and Louisa Eliza Ponder, she was one of fourteen children. 1n 1869 she married Joseph A Butler in what was then Clark County. They were the parents to Louisa Butler Maxey, my Great Grandmother and to my Aunt Nancy Butler Miller. Her husband Joseph Butler died in 1874, leaving her with these two toddlers. 7 years after her husband died her sister Martha Malcom Harper died and within 2 months Susie Butler and Martha's husband Anselmn Lee Harper Jr. were married. This was probably a marriage of convenience as Anselmn and Martha were blessed with 5 children from 3 to 13 years of age. But love conquers all and within 13 years the bride and groom were to be the parents of 5 additional children, two of who were twins. Susan was the niece of Carolyn T. Malcom, first wife of Green Berry Autry (My other GG Grand Parents) . Susan was at one time a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and lived all of her adult life in Oconee County, most likely on Anselnm's farm on Butlers Creek (named for her first husbands family). Her Grandfather, George W. Malcom was a primitive Baptist minister. Susan passed away in 1942, just 1 month prior to her 90th birthday. She is buried beside her husband Anselmn at the First Baptist Church in Bogart, Oconee County Georgia. The place of my birth. Her first husband Joseph A. Butler and her sister Martha are buried at Malcom cemetery on Malcom Bridge Road. From the Archives of Charles W. Brown. Born Nov, 1931 Son of Louise Elizabeth Autry and Joseph A.
