Old County Line Church Cemetery Inscriptions Oglethorpe County, GA OLD COUNTY LINE CHURCH CEMETERY Turn south in Rayle onto Philomath Road. Go about six miles to just past County Line Church. Turn right at the Upright granite marker that says; "Entrance to Old County Line Church : Organized in 1797; Grave of Rev. Sanders Walker." The old cemetery is about two tenths of a mile down this road. ================================================================= This old cemetery is kept cleaned by members of County Line Church. There are six marked graves and at least nine graves marked with field stones . Several graves seem to be children graves. There are several large pine trees in the graveyard and it is completely surrounded by woods. ================================================================= (a) The Old County Line Church Sight is about 75 yards from the cemetery. In it we find a stone pillow about 3 feet squar and about 2 1/2 feet high with a granite marker in it that says; "Site of Old County Line Church, Organized in 1797, moved in 1921. ================================================================= (b) To the left of this marker is a old Stone with oval top and very hard to read inscription that says; Memorial; Here lies the body of Rev. Sanders Walker, born the 17 March, 1740, died the 28 of November 1805. The 65 year of his age, the 38 year in the ministry. ================================================================= (c) At the other end of the grave is a military marker; "Sanders Walker, Chaplain, Ga. Troops, Rev. war. 1805." ================================================================ To the right of the church marker is an upright stone of marble: (d) Sarah Lamar; Wife of Rev. Sanders Walker, Born Jan.16, 1747, Died about 1808. ================================================================ Near the "Old Church Site". J. B. Nash, 1851-1902; wife's grave, no marker. Fannie Hendrick, 1846- 98 W. B. Tucker. 1861-99 Marshall E. Tucker. son of W. B. and M. C. Tucker, 1887-99 Myrtle E. . daughter of W. B. and M. C.
