Mayo Filed in Office, this 4th day of December 1944 F. D. Maxey, Ordinary, O. Co. GEORGIA, Oglethorpe County. Know all Men by these Presents, That we, Masina Langford, Principal and J. F. Mayo, securities, are held and firmly bound unto the Ordinary for said County, and his successors in office and assigns, in the just and full sum of Two thousand & 00/100 ($2,000.00) for the payment of which sum to the said Ordinary, and his successors in office, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, in the whole and for the whole sum, jointly and severally and firmly, by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this December 4th, 1944. The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That if the above bound Masina Langford do make a true and perfect inventory of the goods, chattels, rights, credits, lands and tenements of W. M. Langford, late of Oglethorpe County, deceased, which have or shall come into the hands, possession, or knowledge of the said Masina Langford, or the hands or possession of any person or persons, for her, and the same, so made, do exhibit unto the said Ordinary when she shall be thereunto required; and such goods, chattels, credits, lands, and tenements do well and truly administer according to law, and do make a just and true account of her actings and doings therein when she shall thereunto be required by the Court; shall deliver and pay to such person or persons, respectively, as they may be entitled to the same by law. And if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the deceased, and the same be proven before the Court of Ordinary, and the Executor obtain a certificate of the probate thereof, and Masina Langford in such case, if required, render and deliver up the said Letters of Administration, then this obligation to be void; else to remain in full force. Langford deceased, died intestate, so far as I know or believe, and that I will well and truly administer on all the estate of the deceased, and disburse the same as the law requires, and discharge to the best of my ability all my duties as Administrator. Maxey, Ordinary Oglethorpe County GEORGIA, Oglethorpe County The Honorable the Court of Ordinary, for the County and State aforesaid: To Miss Masina Lankford. Whereas, W. M. Lankford, late of the County and State aforesaid, deceased, died intestate, having whilst he lived, and at the time of death, real and personal estate within the county and State aforesaid, by means whereof the full disposition and power of granting the administration of all and singular, the real and personal estate of the said deceased, and also dismission of the same, to this Court is manifestly known to belong: I, desiring that the real and personal estate of the said deceased, may be well and truly administered, converted, and well disposed of, do hereby grant unto the said Miss Masina Lankford full power by the tenor of these presents to administer the real and personal estate of the said deceased which to him in his lifetime, and at the time of his death, did belong; and to ask, levy, sue for, recover, and receive the same; and to pay the debts in which the deceased stood obligated, so far forth as his real and personal estate will extend, according to their rate and order of law; being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory thereof, and to exhibit the same unto the Court of Ordinary aforesaid, in order to be recorded, on or before the 1st day of Jan., 1945, next ensuing, and to render a just and true account, calculation, and reckoning of the said administration, when thereunto required: And I ordain, depute, and constitute you the said Miss Masina Lankford, Administratix of all and singular the real and personal estate of the said deceased. John Francis Mayo, Sr. was his son-in-law, married to daughter Annie Lou Lankford. William's parents were Robert Chester Lankford and Elizabeth Bennett. William's wife was Nancy "Ella" Young. William and Ella are buried at Bairds Baptist Church Cemetery, Bairdstown, Oglethorpe Co., GA.
