Grimes of Elbert County of said State security of first said county are held and firmly bound unto Mou? Smith Sheriff of said County in the just and full sum of twelve hundred dollars for true payment of which we find ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and ? firmly by these present, sealed with our seals and dated this January 8th 1849. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas William B.P. Haime, deputy sheriff of said county, has levied an attachment in favor of Edward L. Thomas, Jr., against Samuel Lumpkin, Jr., returnable to the Inferior Court of said county to he held on the fourth Monday in January instant, an a certain negro woman slave named Jane, of yellow complexion, twenty five years of age, which negro woman has been claimed by said James Bridges as his property; Now, should said Bridges well and truly pay said Thomas, plaintiff in attachment all damages, which the Jury, on the trial of the right of property, may assess against him, the said Bridges, in case it should appear that said claim was maide for the purpose of delay only, there the above obligaton to be null & void, else to remain in full force and virtue ? & approved by James Bridges seal Gabriel W.
