Bentley bentgate@randomc.com ==================================================================== Oglethorpe County, Georgia Deed Book D, 1800-1806 This indenture made the twenty eighth day of October one thousand and seven hundred and ninety nine, between Isaac BENTLEY and Charlotte BENTLEY being the only heirs of James BENTLEY deceased of the County of Oglethorpe and State of Georgia and Thomas RHODES of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Henceforth we the said Isaac BENTLEY and Charlotte BENTLEY for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars the right whereof we the said Isaac and Charlotte BENTLEY doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold and released and conveyed unto the said Thomas RHODES his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred acres situated lying and being in the county of Oglethorpe having such form marks and shape as appears by a plot of the same ________ a grant to we the only heirs of James Bentley for the said land signed by the Governor the eleventh day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine. Beginning at a pine N28w 19 chains to a hickory thence S 40 w 6 chains and 50 links to a black oak thence S 45 E 28 chains and 50 links to a pine thence N 60 E 67 chains to a pine thence N 65 E 36 chains to a red oak thence N 30 W 25.6 chains to a chestnut thence S 80 W 22 chains 50 links to a hickory thence N 20 W 7.6 chains to Red Oak S 70 W 22 chains to a red oak thence S 58 E 4 chains to post oak thence S 30 W 60 chains to the beginning. Bounded NE by DAVISES land NW by JOHNSON, JINNINGS, RAGANS land SW by BROWNS land SE by BRAGGS and BAILEYS land. With all and singular the rights members and apportionment thereof whatsoever the said plat or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining this unto and also all the estate right title claim and demand of us the said Isaac and Charlotte BENTLEY of into or out of the same to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land. With all the rights members and appertains unto the said Thomas RHODES his heirs and assigns to his and their proper use and behalf forever in fee simple. We the said Isaac and Charlotte BENTLEY doth warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises from the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
