All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Troy Colquitt telles@elberton.net November 10, 2013, 2:40 pm forty nine Written: April 15, 1816 Recorded: May 28, 1816 Jasper County Deed Record Book: 7 1815-1817 pages: 297-298 Grantor: William Collier Grantee: Henry Avery Written: April 15, 1816, Recorded: May 28, 1816 (Page 297) This indenture made this fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Sixteen between William Collier of the state of Georgia and county of Oglethorpe of the one part and Henry Avery of the state of aforesaid and county of Jasper of the other part Witnesseth That for & in Consideration of the sum of one (Page 298) hundred and twenty five Dollars to me in hand, paid by the said Henry Avery the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained & sold & by these presents doth bargain sell and convey unto Henry Avery his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Jasper & on the waters of Shoal Creek containing Fifty acres and one half it being the balance of a lot of land granted to the Orphans of Edward Powell deceased in the sixteenth district and number forty nine Together with and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the said William Collier doth hereby warrant and will forever defend the right & title of the aforesaid Fifty acres and one half acre of land unto the said Henry Avery his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use, benefit & behoof in fee simple free from the Claim or Claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written Signed sealed & acknowledged in present of Robert Jones William Collier (seal) Howard Beal Vines Smith Georgia ] personally appeared before me Howard Beal of the county of Jasper County ] Oglethorpe and being duly sworn saith that he saw the maker of the within deed sign his name whereunto also Robert Jones and Vines Smith the two subscribing witnesses 23rd May 1815 Howard Beal Luke Williams J.P.
