Deed Book B Pg. 126, January 3rd, 1797 (Pg. 126) This indenture made this 3rd day of January in the year of our Lord one-Thousand seven-hundred and Ninety-seven between Samuel Colquet and and Molly his wife of the County of Oglethorpe and state of Georgia of the one part and James Banks of the County and State of forsaid of the other part Witnnesseth that the said Sam'l Colquet and Molly his wife have for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said James Banks the reciept Where of he doth have by acknowledged hath bargain sold and confirmed and doth by these presence bargain sale and confirm unto the said Banks and his heirs and assigns forever a certain track or parcel of land Containing by Estimation of two-hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Oglethorpe formerly Wilkes on Indian Creek granted to Russell Jones and Conveyed by him to Samuel Colquet and adjoining Elijah Pope and all the profits advantages and apertinenus to the said track or parcel of land belonging or in anywise appertaining an the invertion and revertions remainder and remainders and profits thereof and also all the (Pg 127) The estate rights title invest & Claims and Demands, whatsoever of him the said Samuel Colquit of in and to the same & Every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said track or parcel of land and premises here in before mentioned with all the singular for the appertinous by unto the said James Banks his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said James Banks his heirs and assigns forever and the said Colquit and his heirs the said tract or parcel of land and premises above mentioned with the appertineus to the said Banks his heirs and assigns against him the said Samuel Colquitt and his heirs and Every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for Ever defend by these persons In witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set our hand and affixed Our Seal the Day and year first above written Intertine before Assign Samuel Colquet (seal) Richard Banks Molly Colquit (seal) Edw'd Traylor Proved by Edward Traylor, 9th January 1797, and William Smith J.P.
