Oglethorpe County Deed Book H, page 328

State of Georgia  }  This indenture made this twenty seventh of February 
Oglethorpe County }  Eighteen hundred and four between Giles Tompkins of the 
one part and Solomon Bridges of the other part both of the state and County 
above writen Witnesseth that the sd Giles Thompkins for and in consideration of 
the sum of Fourteen hundred Dollar to him in hand paid by the sd Solomon 
Bridges the receipt whereof is here by acknowledged and him self satisfied hath 
granted Bargained and sold and by these presence doth grant bear bargin and 
sell unto the said Solomon Bridges and to his heirs and assigns forever all 
that tract and parsel of Land lying in the county and State aforesaid on the 
waters of Goose pond Creek containing two hundred and Eighteen acres be the 
same more or less Bounded as followeth to with beginning at a pine corner 
running south twenty five west thirty two chain and eighty five links to a Post 
oak corner thence North sixty five west forty seven chain and fifty links to a 
Post oak corner thence North twenty five East fifty five Chains and fifty links 
to a Hickory Corner thence South Eighty five East thirty two Chains to a 
Hickory Corner thence North twenty five East two chains to a Spanish Oak Corner 
thence South thirty East Seven chains fifty links to a Black Oak Corner thence 
South sixteen West Seven Chains to a red oak Corner thence South twelve East 
thirteen Chains to the Beginning together with all the appertanances here unto 
belonging and I the sd Giles Tompkins will warrant and forever defend the above 
bargained primises to the above mentioned Solomon Briges his heirs and assigns 
for Ever in witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal in presents 
of
