	This Indenture Made this thirteenth day of December in the year of Our 
Lord One thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine Between James McCarty of the 
County of Oglethorpe & State of Georgia of the one part and James Davenport 
Senr of the County & State aforesaid of the other part   Witnesseth that the 
Said James McCarty for and in consideration of the Sum of One hundred & fifty 
Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said James Davenport Senr at or before the 
Sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged 
hath Granted bargained Sold released & Confirmed and do by these presents Grant 
Bargain Sell release & confirm unto the said James Davenport Senr his Heirs & 
assigns forever all that Tract or parcel lying & being in the County aforesaid 
on the waters of Milstone Creek on branch of Broad river containing Sixty four 
acres be the Same More or less it being a Tract of Land Granted to the Said 
McCarty Dated the Twenty Eighth day of November 1786. Adjoining lands of Robert 
Taylor David Thurmond John Devenport & Thomas Merewether Beginning at a Pine 
Corner on Robert Taylors thence S 60 W 51.Chs 56 lks to a pine x on Thurmonds 
thence S 27. E 25 Chs to a post Oak on John Devenports line thence N 43. E 36. 
Chs 50. lks to a Red Oak on Thomas Merewethers line from thence to the 
Beginning Together With all & Singular the rights Members & appertenances 
thereof Whatsoever to the Said Tract of Land being belonging or in any wise 
appertaining & the Remainders reversions rents Its uses & profits thereof & 
every part thereof   To have & to hold the said Tract or parcel of land & all & 
singular the premises & appertenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid & every 
part thereof unto the Said James Devenport Senr his heirs & assigns to the only 
proper use benefit & behoof of him the Said James Devenport Senr his heirs & 
assigns forever the Said James McCarty & Susannah his Wife their heirs the Said 
Tract of land & premises aforesaid & every part thereof unto the said James 
Devenport Senr his heirs & assigns against them the said James McCarty & 
Susannah his wife & their heirs & all & every other person or persons 
Whatsoever Shall & Will Warrant & forever defend by these presents In Witness 
Whereof the Said James McCarty & Susannah his wife hath hereunto set their 
hands & Seals the day & year above written
