Georgia                 	This Indenture Made this tenth day of December 
One thousand seven hundred and ninty five Between John T Goolsby senr of the 
State aforesaid and County of Oglethorpe of the one part and Samuel Goolsby of 
the State of Virginia and County of Amhurst of the other part Witnesseth that 
the said John T Goolsby for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred 
Dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath 
bargained and sold and by these presents hath acknowledged & sold unto the said 
Samuel Goolsby his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tract or parcel of Land 
Containing One hundred and forty three acres be the same More or less lying in 
the aforesaid County on Broad River being part of a larger Tract of five 
hundred and seventy six acres belonging to said John T. Goolsby and Bounded as 
followeth (to wit)  Beginning at a Hickory Corner of the Estate of John Gilmer 
Decd on the river Runing thence down the River four chains to the Spa. Oak Near 
a Spring on the Back line running Thence N 4’30 E 58 chain to a p. oak Thence N 
5’ W 31 chain to a Hickory on the river Thence Down the River with the Meanders 
thereof 16 chain to a small ash on the Bank Thence S 2’ W 30 ch 50 Links to a 
pine Thence S 7’ 30 E 53 chain Crossing a branch to a red oak on the Back lin 
Thence S 75 W 24 chain to the Beginning  To have and To hold the said Tract of 
Land and premises to him the said Samuel Goolsby his heirs and assigns forever 
and the said John T. Goolsby doth for himself his heirs Executors  
administrators Covenant and agree with the said Samuel Goolsby his heirs or 
assigns to Warrant & forever defend the said Tract or parcel of Land and 
premises to and for the said Samuel Goolsby his heirs & assigns forever in fee 
simple free from all Claims rights Titles or Demand of  him the said John T 
Goolsby his heirs or assigns or any other Claiments whatever In Witness Whereof 
the said John T. Goolsby hath here unto set his hand & seal the day & date 
above Written Signed Sealed and
