All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 and Linda Ellis June 15, 2007, 8:44 pm Written: October 9, 1797 State of Georgia This indenture made this seventh day of October In the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety seven & in the Twenty second year of the Independence of the United States of America, Between Radford Ellis & Elizabeth his wife of the County of Oglethorpe & State aforesaid of the one part & William Walker of the County & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Radford Ellis & Elizabeth his wife for & in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred & fifty seven Dollars Twelve Cents lawfull money of the said state to him in hand well & Truly to be paid by the said William Walker, at or before the sealing & delivering of these presents in hand well & Truly to be paid by the said William Walker, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold released & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell and release & confirm unto the said William Walker, his heirs & assignees all the tract of land containing three hundred acres more or less being & lying in the county aforesaid & state on the waters of Long Creek beginning & bounding by lands belonging to Jonathan Ragan, William Ellis, Mathew Varner & Tom(?) Arnold. Beginning at an oak thence south fifty eight E 38.71 to a black jack at a corner. Thence N 54. E.77 chas. 42 lengths to a corner stake thence N 58 W 38.7 to a pine corner. Thence S 32. W77. 42 lengths along to the beginning. Together with all & singular the rights members & appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land begining bounding or in any wise appertaining & the remainders reversions rents issues & profits thereof & of every part thereof. To have & To hold the said Tract of Land all & Singular the premises & appertaenances thereto belonging as aforesaid and Every part thereof unto the said William Walker his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & benefit of & behoof of the said William Walker his heirs & assigns forever, & the said Radford Ellis & Elizabeth Ellis his wife & their heirs the Tract of Land & premises aforesaid & every part thereunto the said William Walker & his heirs & assigns against him the said Radford Ellis & his heirs & all & every Other person or persons Whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever Defend by these presents.
