Witnesseth that the said William Ellis Senior for and in consideration of the sum of four thousand dollars to him in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said William Ellis Junior his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid. But in the County of Washington at the time of survey on the Waters of Big Creek containing one hundred and Eighty five Acres more or less being a part of a tract of lands originally granted to David Harris. Beginning at a Hickory on John Edwards line thence S20 E34 to a stake on said Edwards ______ line adjoining Howard(?) Carter thence N70 E80 chains to a Dogwood thence N20 W31.50 to a pine thence S70 W16.50(?) to a post oak thence S12 E10 chains to a Red Oak thence S89 W40(?) chains to the beginning hickory on said Edwards line. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said William Ellis Jr. his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said William Ellis Senior for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said William Ellis Junior for himself his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend their right and title thereof against themselves and against the Claims of all other persons whatever.
