All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 January 20, 2011, 4:50 pm Written: February 18, 1808 Recorded: September 15, 1808 John & Caty Goolsby To Nicholas Johnson 1808 Georgia This indenture made this eighteenth day of February eighteen hundred and eight between John Goolsby Senr., and Caty his wife of the one part and Nicholas Johnson of the other part both of the county of Oglethorpe and state aforesaid ------- The said John Goolsby Senr. , and Caty his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold and delivered and by these presents doth sell and deliver to Nicholas Johnson a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and fourteen acres and a half be the same more or less lying on Broad River and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning on a poplar near Webb’s Ferry on the river thence 5 º E –chns to red oak thence S 5 W 52 chs. To a hickory with William Goolsby’s land thence N 80 C 15.50 lks. To a red oak with John Marr’s land thence with N. Johnsons’s land to pine thence with Richard Bellamy’s N 30 W 37 ch. To white oak on a branch thence S 5 ch. To a red oak thence with the river to the beginning poplar. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and premises for him the said Nicholas Johnson his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple and John Goolsby doth for himself, his heirs and assigns covenant and agree with the said N. Johnson to warrant and defend the said tract of land and premises for Nicholas Johnson his heirs and assigns forever free from all claims, rights titles, or demands of the said John Goolsby, his heirs, and assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever.
