Witnesseth that the said John Goolsby Senr. for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold and delivered by these presents doth sell and deliver to his son William Goolsby a certain tract of land containing two hundred and fourteen and a half acres situate in the county aforesaid lying on Broad River and bounded as follows to wit beginning at a poplar near Webbs Ferry on the River S 33 chns to a oak corner ---with said John Goolsbys land thence with John Moors land to a white oak--- thence with Daniel Goolsbys land to a pine ----on the branch. Thence down the branch as it meanders to the river, thence down the river to a hickory ---- at the upper end of the fishing shore to --- one more for the use of fishing, thence down the river to the beginning poplar------. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and premises to him the said William Goolsby his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple and the said John Goolsby Senr. doth for himself his heirs and assigns and executors and administrators do covenant and agree with the said William Goolsby his son to warrant and forever defend the said tract of land to and --------son William Goolsby his heirs and assigns forever free from all claims rights titles or demands of the said John Goolsby his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof the said John Goolsby Senr. Hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and acknowledged In presence of us T. Taylor John Marr John (X) Goolsby Senr. Georgia Oglethorpe County Personally appeared before me Thomas Taylor and being duly sworn saith that he saw John Goolsby Senr. affix his mark to the above deed and acknowledge it to be his hand and also saw the other subscribing witnesses assigns the same T.
