Witnesseth that the said John Goolsby Senr. for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the above named Betsy Goolsby, Peggy Goolsby, James Marr, Nancy Marr, and John Marr, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold and delivered and by these presents doth sell and deliver unto the above grandchildren sons and daughters of John Marr a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres be the same more or less lying on the waters of Broad River and followeth to wit, Beginning on a black jack ---thence with William and John Goolsbys land to a pine ----thence with Nicholas Johnsons land to a hickory corner thence with Johnsons land to a hickory corner . Thence with Thomas Stephens land to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and premises to them the said Betsy Goolsby, Peggy Goolsby, James Marr, Nancy Marr and John Marr to them and their heirs and assigns forever in fee simple, and the said John Goolsby Senr. doth for himself his heirs, executors, or administrators and assigns do convenant and agree with the above named Betsy Goolsby, Peggy Goolsby, Nancy and John their heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land and premises to and for his grandchildren son and daughter of John Marr to the and their heirs and assigns forever free from the claim or claims, rights, titles, or demands of the said John Goolsby, Senr. , or his heirs or assigns or ever other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said John Goolsby,Senr. hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and acknowledged In the presence of us William Goolsby his John Goolsby John (X) Goolsby Mark Feby. 13th , 1805 This day John Goolsby, Jr. made oath before me that the above deed was executed in his presence and that William Goolsby was a subscriber evidence to the said deed. --- -------- K.P.
