For and in consideration of the sum of $1000 Dollars, sold a tract of land containing 214 ½ acres lying on Broad River and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a popular near Webbs Ferry on the river, S 33 chains to a to a red oak corner and with John Goolsbys land; thence S 5 W 52 chains to a hickory corner; thence with said John Goolsbys land; thence with John Moreland to a white oak; thence with Daniel Goolsbys land to a pine on the branch; thence down the branch as it meanders to the river; thence down the river to a hickory at the upper end of the fishing shore to reserve 1 acre for the use of fishing; thence down the river to the beginning. 46/48 Oglethorpe County Deed Book D: 370-371 1807, January 4—This Indenture was made between William Goolsby to Nicholas Johnson, both of Oglethorpe County. For and in consideration of the sum of $ 800 Dollars, sold unto the said Johnson, a tract of land lying on Broad River bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a hickory on the river and running with the line of said Johnson to a hickory on the line of John Marrs; thence with said Marrs line to a white oak; thence with said W. Goolsbys line to a pine in a branch: thence with said branch and the meanders thereof to the river; thence down the river to a hickory at the upper end of the fishing shore from which place 1 acre of ground is laid out so as to include the said shores; thence down the river to the beginning.
