Indenture bet James Hartsfield & Gabriel Jones 14 Jan 1820 Oglethorpe Co, GA This Indenture made this fourteenth day of January in the year of our Loard One thousand eight hundred & twenty Between James Hartsfield of the County of Oglethorpe in the State of Georgia of the one part and Gabriel Jones of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Hartsfield for and in consideration of fourteen hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Gabriel Johnes the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Gabriel Jones and to his heirs and assigns forever All that tract or parcel of Land situate on the Little Beaverdam in the County afforesaid Containing two hundred acres more or less Begining at a pine & Black Gum Corner on Larkin Johnsons line runing thence on said Johnson & Luckies line N 30 E 50 chs 80 links to a pine corner thence on Embrys line N 62 W 40 chs 50 links to a corner Hickory thence on said Jones line S 30 W 49 chs 50 links to a corner P. Oak thence s 60 E on M Andrews line to the begining the same being part of a tract of four hundred acres granted to Samuel Houston Together with the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wis appertaining To have and to hold the same unto the Said Gabriel Jones and to his heirs and assigns forever And the said James Hartsfield the said tract of land with its appurtenances to the said Gabriel Jones his heirs and assigns against the claim right and title of him the said James Hartsfield and his heirs and against the claim right and title of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
