Indenture bet Richard Hartsfield & Sam Houston 06 May 1800 Oglethorpe Co, GA This Indenture made this Sixth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred between Samuel Houston of the County of Abbeville & State of South Carolina of the one part & Richard Hartsfield of the County of Oglethorpe & State of Georgia of the Other Part Witnesseth that the Said Saml. Houston for & in Consideration fo the SUm of four hundred Dollars to himi in hand paid by the Said Richard Hartsfield before the Sealing & Delivering of these Presents the receipt Whereof is herby Acknowledged the Said Samuel Houston hath bargained Granted Sold & Confrimed unto the Said Richard Hartsfield his heirs & assigns one Certain tract or parcel of Land lying & being in the County of Oglethorpe & State of Georgia on both Sides of Little Beaverdam Creek of Broad River Begining at a hickory x thence S. 60 W. 32 Ch. 72 lks. to a hickory x thence N. 30 W. 63 Ch. 24 lks to a Post Oak x thence S. 60 W. 8 Ch. to a pine x thence N. 30 W. 50 Ch. to a hickory x thence N. 60 E. 28 Ch. 50 lks to a Sawerwood Corner on Francis Wrights line Thence N. 20 E. 40 Ch on the said line to a Post Oakx thence N. 70 W. 5 Ch to a black Oak x on the said Hartsfields old line thence along the said line to the Begining Containing four hundred acres be the same more or less which may more fully appear refferance being had to a grant bearing dat the ninth day of February 1785 granted to the said Samuel Houston Together with all & Singular the rights members & appurtenances thereof Whatsoever to the said tract of Land being belonging or in any wise appurtaining & the Remainders Reversions Rents issues & Profits therof & Every Part therof to have & to hold the Said tract of Land & all & Singular the Premises & appurtenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid & Every Part therof unto the Said Richd. Hartsfield his heirs & assigns to the only Proper use benefit & behoof of the Said Richard Hartsfield his heirs & assigns forever & the said Samuel Houston & his heirs the said tract of Land & Premises aforesaid & Every Part therof unto the said Richard Hartsfield his heirs & assigns against the said Samuel Houston & his heirs & all & Every Part therof unto the said Richd.
