Indenture bet Washington Hartsfield & Cornelius Davis 16 May 1833 Oglethorpe Co, GA This indenture made and entered into this sixteenth day of May in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Cornelius Davis of the Town of Davenport in the County of Delaware and State of New York ot he one part and Washington Hartsfield of the County of Oglethorpe and State of Georgia aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said cornelius Davis for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the signing sealing and delivery of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the said Washington Hartsfield a certian piece of land situate being and lying in the county aforesaid on the waters of Broad River beginning at the upper part of the falls commencing on a pine running squar off to a hickory corner thence squar down to the river to a whit oak corner the river making the other line all of which will more full appear by reference to a deed from Henry Hartsfield and Hendon Olive made on the third day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty one to Cornelius Davis and said Washington And the said Cornelius Davis conveys tract title and interest to the said Washington Hartsfield as he has acquired by the deed mentioned above. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the improvements and appertenancies therunto in any wise belonging or appertaining as far as the said Davis has power to convery the same. And the said Cornelius Davis for himself and hiers warrants and defend the title to the premises aforesaid to the said Washington Hartsfield his heirs and assigns.
