Indenture bet Francis Trammell & Middleton Hartsfield 08 Jul 1818 Oglethorpe Co, GA This Indenture made this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & eighteen Between Francis M. Trammell acting administrator of the good & chattles rights & which were of Daniel Trammell late of said County deceased of the County of Clarke & State aforesaid of the one part & Middleton Hartsfield of teh same County & State of the other part, Witnesseth that whereas the said Francis M. Trammell in pursuance of an grom the honorable the Courth of Ordinary of the County aforesaid and advertized in due form according to law in and of the Publick Gazette of said State, all the manor & title which were of the said Daniel Trammell to a fifth part of a tract of land lying in the County of Oglethorpe in said State adjoining Charles and others containing one thousand acres more or less & whereof the said claim & title which were of the said Daniel to a fifth part of the aforesaid tract of land after having been duly advertised for sale as aforesaid way on the first tuesday in July instant exposed to sale at publick autery at the court house of said County in the Town of Watkinsville between the legal and proper hours when the same way knocked off to the said Middleton he being the highest & best bidder at & for the sum of fifty dollars. Now know ye that I the said Francis M. Trommell administrator as aforesaid by virtue of the power in me vested by law for & in consideration of the aforesaid sum of fifty dollars to and in hand paid by the said Middleton at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold & converyed & by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien convey & confirm unto the said Middleton Hartsfield his heirs & assigns all the afresaid claim or title which was of the said Daniel Trammell to a fifth part of the aforesaid tract of land containing one thousand acres, more or less. To have & to hol unto the said Middleton Hartsfield his heirs, executors & assigns all the aforesaid claim or title which was of the said Daniel Trmmell to the aforesaid fifth part of the aforesaid tract of land with all & singular the rights members and appurtenances to the on fifth part thereof, belonging or in any wise appertaining forever, And I the said Francis M. Trammell as administrator as aforesaid from my self my heirs & from the heirs of the said Daniel Trammell & from all & every person or persons claiming or to claims by through or under him the aforesaid claim or title to the said one fifth part of the said tract of land will warrant & for ever defend -- In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written Francis M.
