Indenture bet Josiah Hailes & Godfrey Hartsfield 25 Oct 1803 Oglethorpe Co, GA

This Indenture Made this twenty fifthe Day of Octobr. in the year of our Lorde
one thousand eight hundred & three Between Josiah Hailes of the State & County
aforesaid of the one part & Godfrey Hartsfield of the State & County aforesaid
of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Josiah Hails for & in
consideration of the sum of two hundred & eighty Dollars to him in hand paid
the Receipt whereof I the said Hailes doth hereby acknowledge, hath bargained
Sold & released unto the Said Godfrey Hartsfield all that tract or parcel of
Land situate lying & being in the aforesaid State & County on the waters of
Clouds Creek, Butting & Bounding as follows, begining at a Red Oak running
E.75N. 4 chs. to a Hickory thence N. 43 W. 6 Chs. & Seventy links to a Stake
thence E.49 N. 5 Chs. 19 lks. to a red oak, thence E. 56 N. 15 Chs. 50 lks. to
a P. O. thence N. 49 W. 11 Ch. 51 lks to a P. O. thence a Due W. 36 chs. & 81
lks. to a P. O. thence W. 48 S. 15 Chs. 61 lks. to a chesnut, thence a Direct
Course aiming to the begining Corner until it strikes the branch thence with
Said branch as it meanders to the Said begining Corner - joining Isaack McRoy,
Richard Roberts old tract, & Moses Herrin - A part granted to Anthony Ollive,
& a part to said Hailes, Containing one Hundred & Nine Acres, or more, To him
the Said Godfrey Hartsfield his heirs and assigns, all the said Tract or
parcel of Land, as Above Described Together with all & Singular the Premises,
profits, advantages & Productions, therunto Belonging or in any wise
appurtaining thereunto.  To have & to hold forever, fee simple & I the Said
Isaiah Hailes doth mind myself my heirs Exectrs. Admins. & assigns by these
presents to warrant & forever defend the said tract of Land with all the
appertenances therunto belonging to him the Said Godfrey Hartsfield his heirs
& assigns from the claim or claims of every other person or persons whatsoever
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the day & date above
written.
